Using drones to determine chimpanzee nest absences

A lot of drone research focuses on determining the presence of animals or their signs such as nests. But for conservation it is also important to know with some level of certainty when animals do not occur in an area. Here we show how we can use drones to determine abscenes for chimpanzee nests.
