The Mission of ConservationDrones.org
ConservationDrones.org seeks to share knowledge of building and using low-cost unmanned aerial vehicles for conservation-related applications with conservation workers and researchers worldwide, especially those in developing countries.
Specific objectives:
- build capacity in the developing tropics to use unmanned aerial vehicles for conservation
- raise public awareness of conservation challenges in those regions
- inspire others to adapt emerging technologies for conservation

What advice can you give to beginners (employees, readers)?
For technical issues on Pixhawk and mission planner I suggest: https://diydrones.com/
For general drone and conservation issues I think the book that Lian Pin and I did is a good general introduction: https://www.amazon.com/Conservation-Drones-Mapping-Monitoring-Biodiversity/dp/0198787618/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1541438227&sr=8-1&keywords=conservation+drones
