Drones and global tree mortality

Understanding excessive tree mortality is important to understand the potential impacts of climate change and others on trees. Obtaining ground-based data are sparse. A recent open access paper led by Clemens Mosig introduced the deadtrees.earth platform that allows for aerial data from drones and airplanes to be used to assess tree mortality patterns. Please check the paper and platform out and consider contributing your images as well if you have conducted flights to produce orthomosaics. It is really easy to contribute your images and help this important project further.
