Flight Animation with synchronized video

Google Earth-synchronized animation and video of our orangutan nest hunt in Sumatra. See animation.
If you are using a GoPro HD camera, or any non-GPS enabled video camera, you can use a new web service, GPS4Sport.com, which allows for the synchronization of your APM log (in GPX format) with your Youtube video. GPS4Sport displays an animation of your flight in Google Earth in your browser with an insert showing the synchronized video footage. Browser playback requires Google Earth Plug-in.
congratulations….. it was fantastic…… a great tool.

Wonderful tool indeed!!! I was wondering why the wildly varing speed readouts? Speeds seemed to vary upwards of 20% over a few seconds was that because of wind, or Bad/Slow GPS Updates or ? It does not seem to have affected the ability for the software to put the log together with the video, but was kinda worried if it had any negitive effects to projects. Say if you found a sleeping site would you still have good data to maybe send a quad copter over to check it out more closely?
Hi Matt, the variable speed is likely because of wind. The autopilot technology has improved quite substantially since we did that flight. You can read more about it here: http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/a-newbies-guide-to-uavs
