MACHINE VISION DETECTING SPECIES PROTECT/REMOVE – INVASIVE & WATER

Videos were captured using Mavic Pro DJI with 4k optical drone video, also smart phone with Gimble was used to produced training material. Computer vision was implemented into the software to detect, evaluate and register species automatically. Visible targets are easily detected reliably from video with a very low cost. Other technologies were also used but not seen feasible for the purpose says the Finnish Environment Institute researcher Jari Silander.
