Our teams work with and provide support to organizations all around the globe. While we sometimes share updates through specific blog entries, there are often many more fieldwork photos and stories than we can post about on the main feed. As a home for these interesting tidbits, we’ve created an Instagram account to host archived images from earlier trips, and to act as a forum for micro-updates while we’re in the field.

Coastal erosion in #Suriname, South America as seen by a #ConservationDrone. Much of this incredibly beautiful but sparsely populated country is covered by dense rainforest. The Amazon River pours over a billion tons of silt into the sea near here each year, constantly replenishing the land lost to wave action along this coast. The loss of mangrove forests in some areas along the coast is changing this delicate balance, however, leading to severe land degradation in some areas. Various groups are working to bring mangroves back to restore their services and protect coastal land. #CI #erosion #Amazon #Mangrove #beach #uav #ConservationDrones #3dr #3drobotics
Fishing boat repair on the shore of Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania. We visited this isolated fishing village to see how an aerial view might help track erosion on the slopes surround the central living area. We captured this stunning photo on the way back to the landing area. #ConservationDrones #Tanzania #Africa #Fishing #Village #3DR #Iris #JGI @3drobotics #JaneGoodallInstitute
